About
Who is G. Patrick Thorne?
That's a more interesting question than it might seem.
G. Patrick Thorne began as a name attached to stories. But a name doesn't necessarily have to belong to only one kind of creation—or even represent only one person's contribution.
Today, G. Patrick Thorne is developing into a collaborative creative identity: a place where human imagination, experience, art, technology, and new forms of collaboration can come together to create things that might not otherwise exist.
Creation Has Changed
Every generation of creators has worked with the tools available to them.
The pen changed writing. Photography changed art. Computers changed nearly every creative field.
Artificial intelligence presents another change—not necessarily as a replacement for human creativity, but as something that can participate in the creative process.
The work of G. Patrick Thorne explores that possibility in practice: human direction, imagination, judgment, experience, and purpose working alongside artificial intelligence to develop stories, ideas, designs, and eventually things we haven't created yet.
Create · Wonder · Better
Create things worth experiencing.
Wonder about things worth questioning.
Better the conditions we have the ability to improve.
So, who actually is G. Patrick Thorne?
Yes.
An artist?
We're working on that.
A collection of ideas?
Certainly.
A collaboration between human and artificial intelligence?
That's part of it too.
Something that may become considerably larger than any of those descriptions?
That's the idea.
G. Patrick Thorne isn't intended to be a finished definition.
It's an identity under construction.
Stories are being written. Art will be created. Ideas will be tested. Some things will work. Some probably won't. And as success creates opportunities, we'll look for ways to turn some of those opportunities toward making things better.
We don't know exactly what G. Patrick Thorne will become.
That might be the most interesting part.
